FLORA SALDIVAR
SOAK STAIN FINE ART
Flora Saldivar is a Mexican American artist who finds inspiration in the ebb and flow of life, drawing parallels between the natural world and our interactions with each other.
Through a vibrant palette and dynamic soak stain techniques, Flora invites viewers to pause and reflect on the overlapping, intersecting, and merging streams and springs of human experience. With a passion for color, movement, and texture, Flora seeks to capture emotions and impressions rather than specific figures, allowing the viewer's to experience their unique take on her work.

ABOUT
Born and raised in Mexico City and now residing in the American Ozarks, Flora has honed her craft while exploring the beauty in chaos and mastering new techniques. In a world that often feels synthetic, processed, and digital, she offers a glimpse into a more unrefined and unpredictable reality through her proprietary gouache color blend, presenting a body of work that resonates with those who appreciate the delicate balance of spontaneity and intention in art.
Growing up in Mexico, she was fortunate to be immersed in a vibrant and diverse cultural atmosphere. Surrounded by exceptionally skilled artisans, She was constantly exposed to a wealth of artistic expression that celebrated the fusion of rich colors and textures. Drawing inspiration from this cultural experience, She has a deep desire to encapsulate and share the essence of this vivid heritage. Through her work, she strives to evoke the same sense of awe and appreciation for the interplay of colors, the intricacy of textures, and the depth of cultural significance that she experienced growing up in Mexico.
Flora is currently represented by MIXD Gallery, and was recently recognized as an "Artist on the Rise" by Artsy.
